Rolf Strottner, 67, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2016 at his residence in Salt Lake City, UT. Born October 15, 1948 in Kaiserslautern, Germany to Ludwig Heinrich and Helene Katharina Strottner. Rolf was a loving papa/opa, and was a hard worker. He enjoyed spending time with family and was an avid Salt Lake ReAL, Utah Jazz and 49ers fan. Rolf studied accounting at the LDS Business College and worked up to his last day at the VA Medical Center (VHA). He served the U.S. Army starting on November 22, 1969 and was honorably discharged on April 21, 1980 where he earned the National Defense Service and Good Conduct Medals, along with his Marksman Badge with a .45 caliber pistol bar. During this time he was married 15 yrs. to Mary Jane Strottner in Cebu, Philippines where he started his family.
Survived by his children, Michael Wayne (Jenny), Christine Dominick, Richard Ludwig and Andrew Steven; grandsons, DeAundre, Damarian & Damarkus; siblings, Erika (Leroy), Soenke, Tom (Kristy); and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Ludwig Heinrich & Helene Katharina; and nephew Olaf Coffin, and best friend Rene' Meyers.
Service at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale, UT on April 29. Viewing 12:00 PM and memorial service 1:00 PM. Following the services family and friends are welcome to join for refreshments. Details will be provided.
