Roger Edwin Mellor

Roger Edwin Mellor, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018.

Roger was born May 15, 1932 in Fayette, Utah to George Edwin Mellor and Vina Elaine Hill.

He married Ruth Tanner November 19, 1954 in the Manti LDS Temple.

Ruth died October 17, 1999.

He married Susan Ingle Hitchcock November 25, 2000 in the Manti LDS Temple.

He served 2 years in the Korean War.

He also attended BYU.

No one loved Fayette more than Roger. He loved to garden and do projects on his property and trying to be self-reliant. He was an honest active member of the Church and did his best to serve those around him.

Roger is survived by his wife, Susan; children, Diane Elaine, Mark Edwin (Jodi), James Lynn, Scott Lawrence (Alyse), Julie (Mike) Schoonover, Ginger (The late Marvin) Davenport, Paul Hitchcock, Parris (Melanie) Hitchcock, Peter (Lorie) Hitchcock, Preston Hitchcock; sisters Shirlee (Roger) Hendrickson, Bonnie Mitchell, Judy (Phil) Olson; brothers McKay (Nettie), David (Gayle); sisters-in-law, Evelyn (Chris) Miller, Irene (Carl) Bonner, Sandra Tanner, Sandra Wilson, Samantha (Phil) Holbrook; 23 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ruth, brothers-in-law Jerald Tanner, Thomas Eric Ingle, Mike Mitchell.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 3, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, 94 W. 300 N. in Nephi. There will be a viewing at 12:30 p.m. prior to the funeral.

Burial will be at the Fayette Cemetery in Fayette, Utah under the direction of the Anderson Funeral Home of Nephi.
