Roger Dean Dansie

Roger Dean Dansie, beloved husband, father, brother, and outdoor enthusiast, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025. Born on April 11, 1959, in Midvale, Utah, to Loran and Carolyn Dansie. Roger lived a life full of adventure, joy, and love for family, nature, and the simple pleasures of life.

Roger was raised in Midvale, Utah, the second of five brothers. He graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1977 and graduated from Snow College in 1980. He went on to marry the love of his life, Diane Francom, on August 1, 1980. Together, they raised two children and lived in both Sandy and Draper, Utah.

Roger’s love for the outdoors was reflected in his many hobbies. Regardless of the season, weekends were often spent boating or wave running on nearby lakes, fly fishing in the Provo River, hunting, camping, snowmobiling, or enjoying endless weekends at Flaming Gorge. He was always active outdoors and cherished every moment.

He continuously planned family trips that would take him around the world. He often talked about his trips with his brothers and close friends. These travels created a lifetime of memories filled with laughter, shared experiences, and the deep bond of family. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters, Reagan and Kennedy, especially at Disneyland riding the teacups! His favorite! Roger’s warmth, kindness, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was always ready with a joke or a funny story that would bring a smile to anyone’s face.

His love for the water and the open air was only rivaled by his enthusiasm for music, particularly the timeless tunes of Jimmy Buffett. Roger was a true Parrot Head, often attending concerts decked out in full fan gear and ready to share his love for Buffett’s music with those around him. He also enjoyed reading Buffett’s books and attending multiple live performances over the years.

Roger’s love of adventure extended beyond his hobbies. A true craftsman, Roger had a natural gift for turning a simple piece of wood into works of art. Whether crafting fish, pens, furniture, or household decorations, his talent was boundless. He took great pride in everything he created, and his handmade pieces will continue to be treasured by his loved ones for years to come.

Roger loved his fur babies and would do anything for them. Pepper, Misty, and Abby loved him unconditionally and followed him everywhere he went. He was known for taking them on early morning walks, carrying them in his arms, taking them for rides on the ATV in the backyard, and providing a never-ending supply of treats.

Roger is survived by his loving wife, Diane Dansie, their children Justin (Gina), Carissa, two grandchildren Reagan and Kennedy, and brothers David, Dan (Mindy), Mark and sister-in-law Charlene. He was preceded in death by his parents, Loran and Carolyn, and his brother Bob.

Roger will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the countless cherished moments shared with family and friends.
