Rodney Jay Lebaron

Rodney Jay LeBaron was born July 30, 1952, in Jamestown, New York, and grew up in Sinclairville, New York. He attended Cassadaga Valley High School. Rodney met Noreen Stenstrom in November of 1970. He joined the United States Navy in June of 1971. After a 10 month whirlwind romance, and just getting out of boot camp, Rodney and Noreen married on September 10, 1971, and have enjoyed 48 extraordinary years; 11 of those years while serving our country as a QuarterMaster assigned to Assault Craft Unit I. They were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple January 25, 1975.

Rodney and Noreen raised 6 children: Kristine (Del Jeppson), Jason (Kim LeBaron), Heather (Kevin Ribas), Joshua LeBaron, Denise (Corey Lambert), and Jesse LeBaron. Rod will be remembered as mischievous, jack of all trades, and creative administrator of all kinds of uses for duct tape. His 30 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren were his treasure. He lit up around them and they were his pride and joy. His grandchildren always flocked to him.

He fought hard and valiantly to stay with the love of his life, but his body finally succumbed. Rod is preceded in death by his parents Lloyd Jay LeBaron (Fuzz) and Jean Ann Stevens, Lois Bonaventura, his brothers Richard LeBaron and twin brother Roger LeBaron.

He is survived by his dad Sam Bonaventura, his sisters Sandy Mosher, Donna Sutton, Debbie Stevens, Karen Flores, and Roberta LeBaron. He is also survived by his brother Randy LeBaron.

His funeral will be Saturday, December 21, at the LDS Church located at 4400 S. 3650 W., West Valley, UT. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m.-12:45 p.m. with the funeral following at 1:00 p.m. A luncheon will be held for family and friends. The graveside service will commence Monday, December 23rd at 10:00 a.m. at Camp Williams.

He will be greatly missed but leaves a legacy of stories that provoke laughter and fond memories. Until we meet again! In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Road Home, a homeless shelter that meant a lot to Rodney.
