Roberta Jackson Jorgenson, age 68, passed away peacefully at home on January 14, 2018 after suffering with Parkinson's disease. She was born May 23, 1949 in Mt. Pleasant UT to James LaVor and Venna LaRue Jackson. Roberta was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Roberta was a graduate of North Sanpete High School and married her sweetheart Keith A. Jorgenson on June 2, 1967 in Moroni UT, the marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple in 1971. They made their home in Moroni where they lived and raised their family for 18 years.
In 1989 they moved to St. George UT where she worked for the State of Utah Department of Workforce Services for nearly 31 years, including 16 years stationed at Dixie High School. She loved working with her friends, colleagues, and students while at Dixie High School. Following retirement they moved to Nephi UT in 2012.
Roberta was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various capacities. She was an avid reader, loved to travel, take pictures and make photo books, crochet, bake the best cookies, drive fast cars (particularly GTOs), and complete family genealogy. She loved animals caring for dogs, cats, and baby lamb lambs. Roberta had a big heart and freely shared of herself with others. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband Keith of 50 wonderful years; children Bryant (Jaclyn) of Salt Lake City UT, Brett of Jacksonville FL, Janel of Olympia WA, and Blake (Shelly) of St. George UT; grandchildren Natasha, Emily, Brady, Jonah, Gabe, and Alexa; her brothers James Jackson Jr (Liz) of San Antonio TX, Bryce (Georgia) Jackson of Milburn UT, Dennis (Koyoto) of Mt Pleasant UT, Glenn Jackson (Shauna) of Pleasant Grove UT; and her sister Sheila (Paul) Anderson of Moroni UT.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 20th at 12:00 p.m. at the Moroni LDS Stake Center, 82 N. Center Street. Viewings will be held prior to services from 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and on Friday, January 19th from 6 - 8 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North, Nephi. Interment will be at the Ephraim City Cemetery.
The family would like to thank all the nurses, nurse aids, and other staff from Central Valley Home Health and Hospice for their gentle and professional care. They would also like to thank Marinda Everitt and April Horrocks for their kindness and help during the last year.
