Robert Goble Lyman

Robert Goble Lyman, age 72, passed away fro cancer on October 19, 2017.  He was born on January 29, 1945 to Joseph Hunter and Zetta Goble Lyman.  He was raised in Nephi and Graduated from Juab High School. He married Karen LaRee Garlick on September 28, 1963 in the Manti LDS temple.  They had three children, James Alvin (Cindy) Lyman, Rochelle (John) Manglinong and Josette (Clay) Kerr.

Robert was often seen riding a horse when he was younger. While in high school he participated in FFA, wrestled, played football and was part of the school operetta.  He was part of the Nephi Nebo riding club.

Robert worked hard to provide for his family and retired from the Operating Engineers Local 3.  His family never had a lot but they never needed for anything.  He was honest and his handshake was his word.  He has always enjoyed camping with family and friends.  He enjoyed long rides on the side by side.  He picked up the hobby of building birdhouses once he retired and received many compliments with his designs. He looked forward to going to "coffee" each day and enjoyed the relationships he built while there.

He is survived by three sisters, Kathleen Watters, Rosalie (Byron) Wilkey and Lavinia (Wayne) Steele,  brother Richard Lyman,  children, seven grandchildren, Ronald (Jaymee) Chiasson, Joseph and Cassie Lyman, Kelsey, Colby (Marissa) and Connor Manglinong, Miranda (Michael) Greenhalgh and Morgan Kerr, two great grand-children, Campbell and Ruby Chiasson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry Joseph Lyman and sister Margaret Bills.

Robert will be missed as a brother, husband, father, grand-father and friend.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the Nephi North Stake Center, 1125 North 400 East, Nephi, Utah. Viewings will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North, Nephi, Utah and 1 hour prior to the services, at the church. Interment, Vine Bluff Cemetery.
