Robert Wynn Harless, age 61, passed away unexpectedly on September 2, 2017.

A loving father and husband, Bob was a gentle, kind-hearted man who loved serving and helping others. Bob was born to Melvin E. Harless and Darlene Horrell-Rice on May 2, 1956 in Mesa, Arizona. He was the youngest of five children and grew up in the Mesa, Arizona area. Bob was an Eagle Scout and later in life loved helping young men earn merit badges on their Trail to the Eagle. He served in the South Korea Busan mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Following his mission, he received his Bachelors and Masters degree in Economics from Brigham Young University. His career in banking took him to various locations including Chicago, Memphis, Los Angeles, Columbus, Milwaukee and various other locations.

While in Los Angeles, he met and married Johanna Louise Ryllart. They married on May 7, 1988 in the Mesa Arizona Temple. While living in Los Angeles, Bob loved running, biking, swimming and scuba diving. He enjoyed spending time with his friends doing those activities. Some of his fondest memories were of running marathons with those friends and catching lobsters and scallops. Every week while Bob and Johanna lived in Los Angeles, he brought home a bouquet of fresh flowers for her because she loved flowers.

They became the parents of three children Jason, Sam and Claire who were the lights of his life. He loved playing hockey, skiing and boating with his children. The most important things in his life were the gospel of Jesus Christ and his family. His influence on his family, friends and associates will continue for generations. His professional career included managing Capital Markets and Derivatives Groups and Risk Management. He loved mentoring others who were learning those businesses and would take whatever time was needed to help them understand. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served diligently in all areas he was assigned to. He especially loved teaching the young children and serving in the temple.
