Richard Lee Pexton, age 68, passed away August 9, 2017 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was born June 4, 1949 in Payson, Utah to Harlow Wallace and Blanche Olene Christensen Pexton. He married Carol Winter, and later divorced. He married Geri Skinner, and later divorced.
Richard graduated from Juab High School in Nephi, Utah. He attended Southern Utah University, and he received an electrical engineering degree from University of Utah. He worked for KSOP radio and KUTV Television in Salt Lake City. He also worked for many sister stations of KUTV in Topeka, Kansas; Albuquerque, New Mexico; and El Paso, Texas.
He is survived by his brother W. Leon Pexton (LaRue), sister Annette Pexton Johnson (Jeff), and children, Veronica Ortiz and Tami Pacheco, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother; brothers Douglas H. Pexton and James H. Pexton, and sons Douglas M. Pexton and Richard W. Pexton.
The family would like to express thanks to Willow Wood Care Center and Bristol Hospice for their loving care and kindness to Richard in his final years.
A viewing will be held Monday evening, August 14, 2017, at Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North, Nephi, Utah from 6-8 pm. Graveside services will be held at the Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi, Utah, August 15, 2017, 955 North 400 East, Nephi, Utah at 3 pm.
