Born October 8th, 1930 in Oakland, California to
Bill Hadley and Ruth Ellis Olsen.
Richard passed away at home in South Jordan
November 8th, 2022.
Richard's mother passed away at a young age
of 32 from leukemia, from that time Richard
lived with his grandparents (Swells in Odgen).
Richard has two brothers and one sister Bill, Bob, & Diane.
Richard graduated from Murray High and
worked at Safeway. He went into the Navy at 18 years of age, he would serve during the
Korean War. He did golden glove boxing in the
Navy.
He also served in the Air Force later in life.
He met the love of his life Marie.
They were married 1953. They had four
children Rose Maire, Lyn David, Bonnie Jo, and Richard Lloyd Hadley Jr., who died shortly after
birth.
They lived in Kearns where Richard was a
charter member of the volunteer fire
department.
Richard (Dick) loved working with his hands and
did all kinds of construction, from building
airplane rocking horses for children to working
on high rise construction. After obtaining his
contractor license, he built our home in
Murray.
Later in life he got his real estate license and
worked for Probe real estate.
He was always giving his time & skills to help
others.
He spent countless hours picking up and
delivering food to those who needed it.
Whenever anyone needed something, he
would do what he could to get it done. If he
saw someone needed help, he would roll up his
sleeves and dig in. He was extremely hard
working and was not afraid to try and do
something different.
Dick had a great voice and would sing for church and other activities.
He would often sing for Marie.
Dick gave himself to his family, community and
the Lord without question.
Richard and Marie were very passionate
about the outdoors, especially fishing and
hunting.
His strong personnel integrity was one that set
an example for others.
I know we were blessed having Richard in our
lives, we would not be the same as we are.
We are happy he is having the reunions with all
his loved ones, even though we miss him.
