Obituary
Richard “Dick” Arlen Fisher, 79, passed away peacefully at his home on March 20, 2018 with his daughter Jasmine by his side.  Born November 16, 1938 in Salt Lake City, UT to Lewis Albert Fisher and Phyllis Lucille Dawe. Grew up in Sugarhouse and went to Garfield Elementary, Irving Junior High and South High School.  Joined the United States Navy in 1955. Served aboard 1 troop transport ship and 6 destroyers. Served in Vietnam. Came back from his military service and started a career in law enforcement with South Salt Lake Police Department before transferring to the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office where he worked until January 1982.  Worked security for American Protective Services before returning back to the Navy in 1987 where he retired as a Chief Petty Officer in 1995. After retiring he enjoyed working at Pinkerton, Peak Alarm, CSC and teaching Security Officer Licensing classes. During his time with CSC he worked at Rio Tinto Stadium during the Real Salt Lake soccer games in the suites.  He absolutely loved interacting with people and whenever he was out and about would always run into someone he knew. Was a big sports fan and NEVER missed a Utah Jazz game when they were on TV. Preceded in death by his parents and Brother Gary. Survived by daughter Jasmine (Scott) Parker, grandchildren Ethen and Mason, several cousins and numerous family members and friends.  Special thanks to the nurses and aides from Intermountain Homecare and Hospice, Pearson, Lina and all of his friends at the Fort Union Super Target. In Lieu of flowers you can donate to the organization of your choice that helps veterans or buy lunch or a cup of coffee for a veteran as a random act of kindness.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 27. 2018 at 11 AM in the Utah Veterans Memorial Park Chapel, 17111 Redwood Road.  Viewings will be held on Monday evening from 6-8 PM at the Aspen Funeral Home, 459 W Universal Circle, Sandy, Utah. Also a viewing at Utah Veterans Memorial Park Chapel, 1 hour prior to services. Burial will follow in the Utah Veterans Memorial Park with United States Navy Military Honors.
