Richard James Beardsley

Richard James Beardsley was born on March 25, 1956 in Hot Springs, SD. When he was 4, he and his family moved to Crawford, NE where he attended and graduated from high school in 1974. Richard graduated from Chadron State College with a Bachelor's Degree in secondary education.  He taught high school math for a few years but realized that wasn't his calling.

His career with Marriott started at the call center in Omaha. This is where he found his second family and life long friends. In 1991 he was asked to move to Salt Lake City, he called that home until his passing on June 28, 2016.  Richard was a dedicated employee at Marriott and loved the Utah Jazz and Grizzlies as well as his Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents: Kenneth (Buck) Beardsley and Ruby Beardsley Hardy, sister Barbara Natividad and nephew Patrick Blare.  He is survived by siblings:  Sandra McLaughlin / Aurora, CO; Kenneth  "Mick" (Lucia) Beardsley / Justin, TX; Johna (Billy) Jeffords/Crestview, FL; Danna (Dale) Novotny/Rainier, OR; Donita (LaVerne) Potter/Gretna, NE and Del Rey Beardsley.  Also 15 nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, his second family at Marriott and many friends.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, July 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Community Church (710 6th St.) in Crawford, Nebraska.
