Regnald Green, our wonderful, loving, and devoted husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, brother, uncle and friend, passed peacefully surrounded by family on December 6, 2022. He returned back to the loving arms of his sweetheart and Heavenly Father. He was born on July 19, 1925 at home in Huntington, Utah to Charles Robert Green and Blanche Jones Green. He was the sixth child of eight: Wilma, Edna, Lilas, Willard, Joyce, Regnald, Emma and Dennis. At a very young age, Dad learned the value of hard work doing farm chores, This helped him to be a hard worker throughout his life. He graduated from North Emery High School in 1943. He was on the track team and he won the “Best Character Award” in the school play for Emery County School District his senior year. After graduation he was drafted into the Army and served in WWII and was stationed in New Guinea and the Philippine islands for two years. He married his high school sweetheart, the love of his life, Evelyn Price on April 8, 1949. Later they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on April 27, 1959. They raised three children in Sandy, Utah: Sherlyn, Rodney and Janalee. He graduated from Henager Business College in accounting / business and later graduated from barber school. He and his father had a barber shop in Salt Lake for 19 years. He worked for Kem Chemical Corporation as a salesman before starting his own chemical business Reliable Labs. He was an active member of the LDS church and was a temple worker for eighteen years. Also, he and mom performed sealings at the Jordan River Temple for two years. He was a handyman that enjoyed helping his family and friends with their projects. He loved to go with them on family vacations, cruises, fishing, hunting, golfing, gardening and bowling. He loved to attend all his family’s activities. He also enjoyed cooking the turkey, homemade dressing, potatoes and gravy for Thanksgiving and ham for our Christmas Eve party. He was a very generous and caring man who taught by example that hard work and service were very important in life. He loved his family, friends, the gospel and our country. We will miss you Dad.
He is survived by his three children: Sherlyn (Ron) Moore of Sandy, Rodney (Tammy) Green of Sandy, Janalee (Mike) Wybert of B.C. Canada, Eight Grandchildren: Mindie (Win) Packer, Jaron (Liz) Moore, Roshelle (Andrew) Moore, Dustin Green, Ryan (Kacey) Green, BreAnna (Austin) Green, Steven (Donna) Jones, Tiffany (Ryan) Hatch, 14 Great-Grandchildren: Alexis, Carson, Logan, Austin, Kaitlyn, Talon, Evie, Jude, Simon, Natalee, Aubree, Remmy, Charlee, Rylee and Reg’s sister Emma (Ken deceased) Prince. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Evelyn, infant son Garth, sisters: Wilma, Edna, Lilas, Joyce, brothers: Willard and Dennis.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 10, 2022 at 11:00 in the Telford LDS ward chapel, 8039 S. Telford Way (1810 E.), Sandy. Family and friends may attend the viewing one hour prior to the funeral from 10:00 to 11:00. Interment at Sandy City Cemetery 700 E. 9000 S. Sandy.
