Rebecca Hope Gustafson

Rebecca Hope Gustafson (Becca), passed peacefully as her mama tucked her next to her heart, gently rocking her and softly speaking words of love and comfort to her.

Becca is the daughter of Christopher and Kristen Gustafson, and the sister of Benjamin, of Eagle Mountain, UT.

Becca came into our lives, staying only briefly but leaving us with precious gifts that will bless each one of us. She has helped us to focus on the power of love, acceptance, happiness and the ability to see each individual through the eyes of God. Anyone that had the privilege of holding Becca in their arms can testify that her spirit was pure and nurturing. It felt so right just to hold this sweet, little girl and you truly did not want to put her down.

Becca captured our hearts from the moment she was born. She was beautiful beyond belief. She had dark, soft, downy hair. Eyes that spoke of love and acceptance. Her little personality left you smiling. She inspired our family to strive to live better and be better.

From the beginning we knew that Becca would not be able to stay long. She was born with a condition that left her heart unrepairable. We are thankful for an almighty God that smiled down tenderly on our family and allowed us much more time than we ever expected.

It is interesting how we each come with our own distinct personality. Becca loved to listen to Harry Potter audio books, Motab was her music of choice and there was nothing better than her mama's daily stories. Becca loved her Mama, turning towards and searching for her at the sound of her voice. One of her favorite times was when daddy returned home from work to play with her. She looked forward to Sunday visits from Grandpa and Grandma. Grandpa would animate stories with his silly voice. Grandma would read and tell stories about the baby Jesus and his wonderful birth. Becca filled us all with great joy, what a privilege it was to have her.

We were able to spend many joyful moments with Becca. We were delighted when she started to coo in response to our conversations with her. We cheered and encouraged her, as she gave her full concentration to a toy on her play mat, finally connecting her little hand with it and making it swing back and forth. We were amazed and pleased when her little eyes had begun to track movement around her. And her smile tickled our hearts.

Becca is survived by her parents, big brother, Benjamin. Paternal grandparents, Linden and Lisa Gustafson of Rawlins. WY. Maternal grandparents, John and Christi Snyder of Coalville, UT. Great grandparents, Jerry and Jeanne Comer of Henefer, UT and Great grandmother, Bonnie Snyder of Coalville, UT. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

The Covid pandemic creates a situation where only those invited may attend the services. There will be a brief family service at the Coalville LDS Stake Center on Tuesday, Jan. 5, at 11:00 am with a graveside service following.
