Rea W. Hall

Rea W. Hall, 97, passed away on January 7, 2024, in Lehi, Utah.  She was born on June 26, 1926 in Rexburg, Idaho, to Conrad L. Walz and Aurelia Billeter.

She had four older sisters and two younger brothers and grew up on a farm just outside of Rexburg where she graduated from Madison High School and Ricks College.  After graduation she moved to Salt Lake City where she worked until she met and married Ivan L. Hall.   They were married in June, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple.  Rea and Ivan lived in Salt Lake City and South Salt Lake before settling in East Midvale where she lived for 60 years.  Together they raised 6 children, 4 sons and 2 daughters.  She had a wonderful work ethic and was always busy and on-the-go her whole life until age slowed her down.  She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she taught children and youth and served in many callings in the Relief Society.  She and Ivan were Temple workers in the Jordan River Temple and served a mission in the Cambodian Branch for two years.  Rea loved music and singing.  In high school she sang in many musicals and operettas.  She was a loving friend to everyone.  Rea loved hand writing letters to all her friends and family, a practice she continued up until shortly before she passed.  She was the best “granny” to all, always willing to talk, to hug, to help, to take meals to someone, play games and do puzzles, and everyone looked forward to her fudge each Christmas.    She will truly be missed.

Survived by 5 children: Janet Evans (Dan), Pat Hall (Daughter-in-law), Ronald (Karen), Scott (Sandy), Mark (Shellie), Becky Wilkes (Dave – deceased); 28 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in Death by her husband Ivan, son Edward, granddaughter Stacie, parents and siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, January 19, 2024 at Goff Mortuary, Midvale Utah.  A viewing will be held at 10:00 am prior to the funeral.  Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.

The family would like to thank all her care-givers at Covington Senior Living (Lehi) and Bristol Hospice for all their kind and loving care.
