Raymon Michael Baarz age 68, returned home to his Heavenly Father on Feb 2, 2016.

He was born September 16, 1947 in Hamburg, Germany to Herbert and Helma Baarz.

Raymon was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and remained steadfast in his belief of the truthfulness of the Gospel to the end.

He was a graduate of Jordan High School and the Utah Peace Officer Standards and Training Academy. He had a number of jobs during his early life until developing a passion for serving others through a career in law enforcement. He served as a member of the Midvale City Police Department for nine years, obtaining the rank of sergeant. He continued his service with Salt Lake County for the next 16 years.

Ray was divorced and is survived by his children; Aaron Michael Baarz and his wife Emily, Shanna Lynn Shampton and her husband Matthew, and Ryan Spencer Baarz and his wife Angela; eight grandchildren; Thea, Taela, Tamera, Timmothy, Caroline, Daisy, Savannah, and Whitney; three brothers; Ralph M., Ronald H., and Vernon E.; two sisters; Harriet Adams and Monica Hansen. Preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters; Rita Smith and Marion Questereit.

Services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Goff Mortuary 8090 S. State Street, Midvale, Utah. Friends may call from 10:00 - 11:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Midvale City Cemetery.

Dad will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather, a man of character, principle and honor.
