Randy Sperry

Randy Lee Sperry passed peacefully on June 10, 2023, at his home in Woods Cross, Utah.

Randy was born on October 26, 1947, in Nephi, Utah to Grant Park and Nella V Jensen Sperry. Randy was the fourth of six children.

Randy graduated from Juab High School in 1965 and loved his high school years. Randy had a passion for sports, especially baseball and basketball. He thoroughly enjoyed watching his beloved New York Yankees and Utah Jazz. He never missed a game. Randy had a passion for playing golf and softball in his free time.

Randy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Randy served in the Utah National Guard from 1965-1971 and was honorably discharged.

Randy began a career at Cummins Intermountain in 1971. He worked at Cummins Intermountain his entire career, which lasted 45 years. He was a very loyal employee who took pride in his profession.

Randy married Patrice Johnson in 1971 and later divorced in 1981. They had two children, Wendee and Jeff. Randy loved his children and believed them to be his pride and joy.

Randy later married his sweetheart Christine Erickson April 14, 2014.  They had a mutual love of the Utah Jazz. They held season tickets for many years together.

Randy had a tremendous love and devotion for his entire family and friends. He was very loyal and cherished his relationships. Randy was always good to support his grandkids sports and school events. He never missed a birthday, holiday or special occasion to celebrate his family.

He is survived by his daughter Wendee (Rick) and son Jeff and 5 grandchildren Madison, Cade, McKayla, Adelynn and Noah, and siblings Joel (Kathy) Sperry and Joy Ashley.

Preceded in death by his wife, Christine, his parents and brothers Errol, Johnny and Phil.

A viewing will be held Friday, June 16, 2023 from 10:30-11:30am at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street, Midvale, Utah. Graveside funeral service to follow at 12pm at Crescent Cemetery, 11105 South State Street, Sandy, Utah.
