Ralph "Pancho" Hurtado, 80, passed away on April 16, 2015 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Pancho was born on December 17, 1934, the fourth of eight children, in Bingham, Utah to Elisa T. Hurtado, and raised by Albert Lujan. Pancho was married to his sweetheart, Laura V. Hurtado, for 30 years.  Pancho had a happy and eventful childhood growing up in Bingham. He served in the Navy, Army and 19th Special Forces for over 20 years and was a Korean War veteran. He then retired from Kennecott after 37 years.  Pancho had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed entertaining others with his stories of lively adventure and memorable pranks. He will forever be remembered as 'Uncle Pancho' to all family,  'Sargent Panch' to all nervous recruits, and 'Papa' to his grandson and big boy Phoenix.  Pancho's stories, humor, kindness, and company will be greatly missed by all.

Pancho is survived by his wife, Laura; daughter, Julia; grandson, Phoenix; children, Scott, Ralph, Gena, Jerry Dean, Beth (deceased) ; siblings, Gus (Gladys) Leon, Beatrice (Fernando) Godina, Arthur (Phyllis) Hurtado, Charla (Ben) Lopez, and Olivia White; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Preceded in death by siblings, Fred Leon and Alex Hurtado.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1745 E 9800 S, Sandy, UT. Viewings will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. (Vigil @ 7 p.m.) at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S State St., Midvale, UT and 1 hour prior to the services, at the church. Interment, Mount Calvary Cemetery.
