Pearl Pollick

Pearl Ostler Pollick passed away peacefully on her 96th birthday of natural causes. Born January 6, 1919 in Herriman, Utah to John ThomasOstler and Mary Myrtle Bodell. She was raised in Sandy, Utah and graduated from Jordan High School in 1937. She married John Pollick in1938 and together they had a son and daughter.

Pearl was employed all her adult life as a bookkeeper/secretary and worked until she was 76. She was known for her promptness, perfection, dependability, and loyalty. She enjoyed traveling to meetings with the Western States Water Council and working there with her sister Fae.

She made afghans for all her family and friends, and enjoyed various handiwork, sewing, and knitting, while her husband John did all of the cooking. They liked to camp and vacation with friends. She did the crossword puzzle in the Tribune every day along with expert crossword books, and she enjoyed reading. She was a very independent, classy lady and she loved to shop.

Pearl is survived by her son, John (Nancy) and daughter, Sherry (Gary) Eckman; brother, James (Gloria) Ostler. She had 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, John; brothers, William, Evertt, Joseph, and sisters, Verla Berrett, and Fae Drake.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale, Utah, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment, Sandy City Cemetery.
