Our Beloved Paulina Manu Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend, age 59 of West Valley City, Utah passed peacefully from this life on January 7th, 2023.
She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and friends during her last days of her life.
Paulina was born in Ayacucho, Peru, to the late Julian and Celedonia Quispe. She was the middle child of five sisters. She traveled and moved to Salt Lake City, Utah and met the love of her life, Tevita Tofua Manu and married May 6th, 1989. Later they had 2 beautiful children, Michelle Manu-Sanchez and Micheal Manu.
Paulina worked at the Little America Hotel as a waitress, cook, she had her own cleaning business temporarily, worked as a picker/warehouse for OC Tanner for 25+ years and recently went to Merit Medical as a Housekeeper and then a Cook. She had all sorts of job roles but all were to help others. Many Co-worker have always said Paulina is a hard worker and always gets the job done with a smile on her face. She's made so many friends from a simple "Hello".
Paulina truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family. Cooking meals and inviting anyone nearby. Spending time with her husband, watching old films, tending to her chickens, crocheting blankets, hats, and scarves. Paulina loved her Peruvian culture, from the food to the music and clothing she always loved to represent. She really had a gift to always be there for others, her heart was a heart of GOLD. Paulina was a strong, independent woman, she always had a way to fix anything. Her family was everything to her, especially her children. She loved to cook and loved to create anything with her two hands. Crocheting was something she loved to do, just about each person she met had a blanket, or a hat, or a scarf that she put her heart into making, especially for them. She was always the "Go-To" for anything. She would always offer to help and would always bring more than she would say. She loved to garden and always invited her family and friends to try out her home cooked meals. She loved to be in the kitchen but loved her kitchen to be full of people. She always made sure everyone had eaten something during their visit. She always loves to have others over and talk about chickens and eggs, a hobby she developed recently. She loved having projects around the house so her beloved husband could make it happen- as they have a chicken coop and everything he built just for her.
Above all, Paulina took pride in her role as a mother, wife, sister, aunt, co-worker and most recently, Grandmother. She enjoyed so many moments with all her friends and family visits.
Paulina is survived by her husband of 33 years, Tevita Manu and her two children, Son: Micheal Manu, Daughter: Michelle Manu-Sanchez, Son-in-Law: Garret Sanchez, First Grand-Daughter: Maliyah Rose Manu-Sanchez, Her four sisters (and spouses): Felicita (Braulio), Jovita, Demetria (Ron), Norma (Napoleon), along with many other family members, all who will miss her deeply.
