Paul W Meyer, 95, passed June 12, 2021 with his daughter Susan by his side.
Born in Missouri to poor poultry farmers, Charles Joseph and Minnie Pearl Williams Meyer. Paul was ambitious and enjoyed many successes.
He enlisted in the Marines in WWII serving on heavy cruisers in the Philippines then transfered to the U.S.S. Portland to see heavy fighting in the South Pacific and witness the signing of the final peace treaty at Truck Island.
He returned home to marry his sweetheart, Mary Elizabeth Ellis. Together they raised two daughters. Paul was a successful businessman and real estate investor. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing and gardening.
He is preceded in death by his siblings Charles Joseph and Clarence Meyer, Frances Meyer Gilpin, and Rose Meyer Watson.
He leaves behind his daughters Tammy Meyer Dingman and Susan Meyer; grandchildren Steven Paul Barney, Marie Elizabeth Barney Poulter, and Nolan Scott Barney; and great-grandchildren Amanda Griffin, Kyson John McOmie, Ivy Adaline Poulter, and Dominic Barney.
He was a kind, courageous, gentle man, a loving father, adoring husband, well respected and admired by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 17th at 12:00 pm at Salt Lake Valley Mortuary (459 W. Universal Circle (9160 S.), Sandy, Utah). Interment will take place in the Utah Veterans Memorial Park Cemetery in Bluffdale, Utah.
