Our beloved wife and mother Patty Ann Sorensen, age 59, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at St. Mark's hospital due to complications from liver disease.
Born in Mount Pleasant Utah on July 18, 1959, to Bud and Mary Anderton, Patty graduated from Tooele High School. On April 5, 1981, she gave birth to her only child, Stephanie Joan Anderton. On December 15, 1985, she married the love of her life, Jeff Sorensen.
The two became quickly and mutually inseparable. They worked hard so they could play hard. Her career was in medical manufacturing at BD Medical, where she enjoyed the fast pace of work and camaraderie of her many colleagues and friends.
Once the work was done, Patty liked to get away from the city to hunt and fish, or to sometimes steal away into to the bright neon casinos in Wendover with a pocket full of good luck charms and change for the slots.
She liked to see shows, ever watchful for an opportunity to see her favorite outlaw country singers or the beautiful show horses of Cavalia. She looked eagerly forward to any excuse to travel by car, plane, or especially train, hoping to one day visit all of the historical sites and landmarks in the U.S.
In life, Patty was a determined, generous and protective spirit; and while we will feel her absence every day, we think she will be content to spend some time anticipating us in the company of her parents Bud and Mary, and her little brother George who had preceded her in death.
She is survived by: husband Jeff; daughter Stephanie; siblings Joan, Buddy, and Margaret; a great many cherished extended family and friends, and one fiercely devoted little spaniel called Willie.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 3rd at 11 AM at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street in Midvale with a viewing one hour prior. Interment will follow at 3:30 PM at the Monroe City Cemetery.
