Patrick John Simpson, our amazing brother, father, grandfather, husband, uncle, cousin, and friend passed away peacefully on March 6, 2021 at Avalon Valley Rehabilitation in Salt Lake City, Utah at the age of 61.
Pat was born November 8, 1959 in Buffalo, New York. He was the son of John Douglas Simpson and Jacqueline Llewellyn Simpson. The Simpsons are a big, tight family and have always had a relationship with each other.
Patrick married Robbin Lynn Knox on May 9, 1982 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they had two children, Christina Lynn and John Douglas Simpson, who were his pride and joy, and he would do anything for them. For many years, Pat worked at Heath and Company full-time, and he owned his own business called Neon Designs, while living in Canoga Park, California. Pat was a jack of all trades and worked a lot of different oddball jobs. Pat and Robbin moved to West Jordan, Utah in 1995 to provide a better life for their family. He worked at YESCO, where he put his blood, sweat, and tears into bending neon.
Pat's greatest joy and focus in his life was family and friends. He was happy and busy doing what needed to be done, making breakfast with grandma, going to get treats for his sweet tooth, and taking care of everyone. His door was always open for friends and family. He loved having people stop by to try his homemade salsa.
Pat's hobbies were poker, camping, and fishing with his grandsons and son-in-law, Cody Hermansen. He also loved going to Idaho to get lottery tickets. Pat never missed a birthday and was always ready for a game of cards, whether it was Texas Holdem' or Gin Rummy.
Throughout all of his life, including the many health struggles he battled, he remained positive and was strong through them, including his liver failure. He was a true example of unconditional love and will be missed by so many.
He is survived by his wife, Robbin; his children, Christina Lynn (Cody) Hermansen and John Douglas Simpson; his grandchildren: Bailey, Austin, Preston, Aiden, and Bradley (Hermansen), and Colton Simpson; his brothers and sisters: Michael, Michele, Scott, and Dawnmarie. He is preceded in death by both of his parents; his brothers, Paul and Frank, and half-sister, Vickie; his grandmother, and one of his good friends, Kelly.
There will be a celebration of Pat's life for friends and family on Saturday, April 3rd, 2021. More information will be given on Social Media (Facebook) for those wanting to attend.
