Edith Patricia Player Vincent passed away gracefully on Monday, September 21, 2015, in Sandy, Utah, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Pat was born on April 16, 1932 in Bennion, Utah, to parents Blanche and Charles Leo Player. She was the youngest of eight children. She spent her childhood in the Bennion area, attending Plymouth Elementary School and Taylorsville Jr. High. She graduated from Granite High School in 1950.
She married Richard N. Vincent on December 3, 1952 in the Salt Lake City Temple and they made their first home on Jefferson Street in Midvale. In 1956 they built a new house on LaSalle Drive.
Pat worked for both Midvale and Welby Elementary Schools as Head Secretary. She loved her job and those that she worked with. She retired in 1995 after working in the Jordan School District for 26 years. Despite her career, Pat made every effort to attend her children's and grandchildren's sporting events and activities.
Pat was active in both her community and the LDS church. She was President of the Midvale Ladies Guild, Young Women's MIA President, Relief Society President, and Ward Chorister for over two decades. In her later years, she also served diligently as a receptionist at the Jordan River Temple. She and Dick enjoyed spending time at their family cabin in Huntsville, Utah.
Pat and Dick were large supporters of the University of Utah and were members of the Crimson Club. They held season tickets to Utah basketball and football games for many years. Pat was also Neil Diamond's biggest fan.
We will miss you Mom, but more importantly, we will remember you often. We love you dearly. Rest easy knowing that you have taught us well.
Pat is survived by her four children: son, Kim; daughter, Lori (Dan); son, Todd (Elizabeth), and son, Darin (Denece). Grandchildren: Brooke (James), Brooke (Mike), Jaime (Pete), Cody (Aimee), Talley, Max, Michael, Charlie and Luci. Great-grandchildren: McKaius, Maezy, and McKaiden.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 25, 2015, 11:00 a.m., at the Midvale 6th Ward LDS Chapel, 8171 S. Jackson St. (225 W), Midvale, Utah. Friends and family may visit at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S.
