Pamela Tew Kelley, beloved wife, mother, daughter, and sister, died unexpectedly on July 31, 2023, at the age of 58. She was born on October 7, 1964, to Russell and Shirley Tew in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Pamela is survived by her husband Mike, son Cody, mother Shirley, sister Annette, brother Gregg (Ray), brother Scott (Laura), brother-in-law Lynn (Debbie), four nieces Jessica (Jeremy), Cortnie (Jason), Amber (Brayden), Jessica, two nephews Jason (Jennifer), Justin (Meghan).
Pamela graduated from Granite High School in 1983 and got her associate’s degree at Salt Lake Technical College. Pamela married Mike Kelley on May 8, 1987 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Pamela was efficient, organized and dedicated to her work as an Office Manager at Marathon Electric for 25 years, as well as her many other accounting clients through her own company.
Pamela was immensely committed to her son Cody’s mountain biking career. She became a manager of this World Champion—witnessing his dreams come to fruition. His achievements were her proudest accomplishments. Most of Pamela’s time traveling was spent supporting Cody and his fellow racers while competing. She became the backbone behind this racing community, a “race mom,” always ensuring everyone had what they needed to succeed.
Pamela was a selfless behind-the-scenes supporter, organizer and advocate for her family and friends. Full of life and endless energy, there was a force about her that people naturally gravitated toward. She was generous in her time, attention and knowledge across all areas of her life.
Her family will remember Pamela as our fun-loving, energetic steadfast rock, who could always be counted on to step in and never shy away from a challenge, always with a side of laughter included. She was serious about playing, and not taking things too seriously. Life is for having fun, being adventurous and making memories along the way.
Pamela had numerous hobbies she was involved in, but painting had become particularly important to her in recent years. Other things she loved included her 1967 Fast Back Mustang and her 2005 convertible Mustang, bike riding, her dogs, country music and donning cowboy boots, watching the Dallas Cowboys, water skiing with the best of them, horses, DIY projects, and being creative.
Pamela is preceded in death by her father Russell Tew, grandparents and in-law’s Bill and LaRae Kelley.
A celebration of life will be held on August 27th from 4-8 p.m. at the Draper Day Barn, 1166 E Pioneer Rd, Draper, UT 84020.
