Pamela Linda (Abplanalp) Sarkady Barth

Pamela Linda Abplanalp Barth was born in Bingham Canyon, Utah, on September 2, 1941 to George and Pamela Hone Abplanalp. Her siblings included Howard, Barbara, Doris, Russell (Willie), and David; with Howard, Barbara, and David still living. After an adventurous childhood spent exploring the early mining town of Bingham (which doesnt exist anymore), she graduated from Bingham High School and was forever a loyal Miner. When she moved to Salt Lake City, she found a job with Auerbachs Department Store. It was at this time that she met and married James (Jim) Sarkady. They had two children: Kevin (Sandra) and Pam (Tom). She enjoyed working as the Gift Shop manager at Cottonwood Hospital. She also became adept at the design and manufacture of candies at Kencraft Candy Company in Alpine, Utah. Linda enjoyed her many trips to Canada and Europe, visiting her in-laws, and remained close to them through her divorce from Jim. Subsequently, she met and married her sweetheart Neal Barth, with whom she continued her adventures. They enjoyed going on cruises, road trips, Wendover, and building their dream cabin in Fruitland. They also spent lots of time with their growing family, which includes 13 grandkids and 5 great-grandchildren. She was also a loving step-mother to Steve (Miriam), Patrick (Sal), and Steph, always willing to lend a hand or an open ear. Linda was an accomplished, self-taught artist. Her work was displayed in craft stores, restaurants, and whoevers homes were lucky enough to receive her creations. Many of her grandchildren have personalized gifts that they have cherished over the years. Through the trials of her illness, she remained cheerful, upbeat, and positive. She was also grateful to the wonderful care her loving husband gave her. Near the end, they received help from Colleen Jenkins, her hospice nurse and Dr. Kavita Willesen. Many thanks go to them and their care. There will be no services at this time, and an open house will be announced at a later time. Interment will be at Larkin Cemetery in Sandy, Utah.
