Our beloved husband, father and grandfather returned to his Heavenly Father on August 11, 2022. His loving wife Mary and his son Manuel were by his side.
He was born in Mora, New Mexico on August 26, 1934 to Efrosinia and Antonio Gallegos.
He was the 6th of 8 children. The family moved to Bingham Canyon, Utah.
Ozzie served as a Marine from May 1953 to April 1956.
He was an Infantry Combat Soldier during the Korean War.
He married Mary Jane Gutierrez in 1957. They just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
He retired from the VA Hospital after 30 years of service.
Hobbies included tinkering on his truck and motorcycle but his greatest passion was music.
He was the original founder of the Phantoms Band and also was the leader of Tica and the Phantoms Family Band.
Ozzie is survived by his wife Mary, son Manuel (Teri), 4 granddaughters Mequette, Jazmin, Quirsten and Amber, and 2 sisters Dora and Josie.
Ozzie is preceded in death by his daughter Debbie, his parents, 3 brothers Joe, Tony and Willie, and 2 sisters Margaret and Eleanor.
He was a Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather.
Services will be held Friday, August 19 at 11 am at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St., Midvale, with a viewing starting at 9:30 am. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.
