Olea Lovell Frandsen passed away on March 16, 2023 in Midvale, Utah. She was born May 15, 1953 in Salt Lake City to Clead and Charlotte Lovell. Olea married Jay Frandsen on November 5, 1976 in Manti, Utah.
Olea was a graduate from Hillcrest High School in 1971. She participated in dance, drama and Chamber Choir. She was a member of the Pep Club.
She attended Dixie College in St. George, Utah, SUSC in Cedar City, Utah, and graduated from Utah State University in Logan, Utah. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education.
She was a member of the LDS Church and served in the Sunday school and many positions in the Primary. Jay and Olea raised four boys, Shane, Nolan, Trenton, Jens, and one daughter, Malena. Most of the time was spend in Utah and Montana. Olea and Jay have 14 grandchildren.
Her hobbies included yard selling, collecting, playing the guitar, crafts and making flower arrangements. Often she would be with her family at the Sand Dunes.
In her later years, Olea cared for her 93-year-old mother, Charlotte, at her home in Midvale.
Jay and Olea met at Union Service in Midvale. Olea took her mother’s car there for repairs. He refused to let her pay for the repairs, but Olea came back the next day with homemade brownies. That started many lunches that she would take him. In a matter of three months they were married in the Manti Temple.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 25th at 1 pm at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St. in Midvale. A viewing will precede the service from 11 am to 1 pm. Interment will be at the Sandy City Cemetery, located at 9000 South 700 East in Sandy.
Olea was preceded in death by her father Clead F. Lovell. She is survived by her mother Charlotte Armstrong Lovell, husband Jay Frandsen, brothers Ruel Lovell (Sherry), Mark Lovell (Sharon), Jeff Lovell, and her sister Ann Lovell Harker (Cameron).
