Ofelia “Della” Teissler. Born 11-14-1933, Died 10-02-2018.  It is with a mix of sorrow and happiness that I announce that she has passed. She suffered a massive stroke at home on Sunday, September 30th. I was home with her when it happened and she slipped into a coma within two hours. She was moved to palliative care and did not suffer – she went to be with her family in heaven within two days. She passed peacefully, knowing that she was well loved and cared for. She will be reunited with her parents, Cristobal Perez and Martha Diaz. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Juanita Reyes and her brother, Richard Perez. Della was an independent woman who lived on her own for the last 40 years, until the last six months. She made a living for herself and her two children Janine and Chris, sometimes working two jobs while she got her diploma. She was born in Los Angeles and moved to Salt Lake in the Spring of 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Janine Calfo, her son, Chris Wells, and her three grandchildren, Danielle and Chris Calfo and Jasmine Wells. Della requested to be cremated – no services will be held in Salt Lake City. Plans are being made to bring her back home to Southern California, where a service will be planned after the New Year. Although she had rheumatoid arthritis, she had no other serious illnesses. She lived a long and happy life.
