Sandy, Utah - Norma Jane Robins Martin, age 97, passed away on January 22, 2016 of natural causes.  Norma was born to Morrill and Nola Crane Robins January 3, 1919 in Salina, Utah.  Norma married Rodger A. Martin, October 2, 1939 and they lived in St George, Utah for the first two years of their marriage.  Rodger preceded her in death on March 16, 1998.  Norma was raised in Salina with seven brothers and sisters.  She attended school in Salina, graduated from North Sevier High School and attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City.  In 1938 she returned to Salina where she worked as a secretary for Works Progress Administration (WPA) government program and later as a Bookkeeper at the Salina Livestock Auction owned by her father.

In July 1959 Norma and family moved to Sandy, Utah where her husband, Rodger worked for the US Postal Service in Salt Lake City for over 30 years.  On November 10, 1960 she started work as an Office Manager for New York Life Insurance Company, until she retired on November 30, 1981.

Norma and Rodger enjoyed traveling with her parents and making trips in their trailer to the Northwest, Canada and other places in the US.  They had a family campgrounds in Gooseberry, Utah where they spent many enjoyable summers with their family and friends.  Upon her retirement in 1981 they traveled to Welton, Arizona with friends.  They learned to love the Arizona winter climate and purchased a lot in Yuma in 1984 where they lived five months out each winter. They enjoyed their children making visits for the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays.

The family would like to give thanks to the Sandy Wentworth Assisted Living. Its staff for their personal care given to mother over the last two and half years of her life and a special thanks to RN Stacy Smith for her personal care and many countless hrs. to mother over this difficult period in her life.  Mother said many times during this period that, "The staff here is taking good care of me and my special needs".

Norma is survived by her children: Rodger L. Martin and fiancée, Jane Tufts, Jerold Boyd (Pard) Martin and Kathy Martin, Bruce E. Martin and Koelle Martin; grandchildren Shawn L. Martin, Melanie K. Andrews, Nikki L. Burch, Teranie S. Pelch, Landen Martin and Nolan Boyd Martin; sister Rae Lindquist of Cottonwood Heights.  She was proceeded in death by her parents; her husband, Rodger A. Martin; six siblings: Beryl Mickelson, Geraldine Herstead, Gwen Martin, Brooks Robins, Jack M. Robins and Bobbie Robins; Grandson Lane A. Martin and Great Grand Daughter, Mardee Jo Andrews.

Her funeral services will be at 12 Noon, Friday, January 29, 2016, in the LDS Stake Center, 98 West 400 North, Salina, Utah, with a viewing between 11:00 and 11:45 AM prior to the service. A viewing will also be held for friends and family at the Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street, Midvale, Utah between 6:00 and 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 28, 2016.  Her burial will be in Salina Pioneer Cemetery.
