Nola Helen Jensen

On Friday, December 25, 2020 Nola Helen Johnson Jensen peacefully passed away at the age of 82 at her residence in Hyrum, Utah.

She was born May 28, 1938 in Murray, Utah to Henry Clarence and Helen McMullin Johnson.  She graduated from Jordan High School in 1956 and then went on to work as a secretary at the Geneological Society and then Hercules Powder Company.  She married Roseal Mondell Jensen on July 6, 1962 in Salt Lake City and was later sealed in the temple on July 5, 1963.  Together they raised two daughters, Pamela and Patricia, in Grantsville, Utah.  After Mondell died in 1987, she moved to Sandy, Utah where she lived for 30 years enjoying her home, friends, family and neighbors.  She loved serving people in her community and ward and we, as a family, appreciate the service rendered to her during these last few years.  In May 2019, Nola moved to Blacksmith Fork Assisted Living Center to be closer to family.  She, once again, quickly made new friends and it became "home."  She was lovingly watched over and cared for during her time in Hyrum.

Nola worked in the Personnel Department at Tooele Army Depot and then later as the Family Service Director for Salt Lake Recruiting Battalion.  She also enjoyed working at the Department of Agriculture as a receptionist and as a volunteer at the Bishop's storehouse.

One of Nola's favorite activities was traveling with her sisters and friends - she looked forward to trips, cruises, adventures and site seeing.  She loved her dog, Randy, and cats Goldie and Jenny.  Spending time and spoiling her grandchildren, KaeLynn and Mitchell, was always on her list of "to do's."  She loved her church callings and developed many talents over the years.  She taught us, as a family, to look for the good in life and in people and to cherish every day.

Nola was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three sisters, Beverly Hawker, Nancy Johnson and Charlotte Johnson.  She is survived by two sisters Flavo (Jim) Johnson and Shirley (Niles) Pierce, two daughters Pamela (Larry) John, Patricia (Mike) Holloway, two grandchildren KaeLynn (Jason) Worthen and Mitchell (Kennadee) John along with two great-grandchildren Maverick and Thea.  (She must like the number two).

On January 2, 2021 a viewing will be from 10:30-11:30 am at Goff Mortuary (8090 S State Street, Midvale) and  a graveside at noon at the Sandy City Cemetery (700 E 9000 S, Sandy).
