Nishan Messerian was born on February 25, 1938. He was 86 when he passed away on July 15, 2024. He was born and raised in Williamson, West Virginia. This was his hometown during his childhood, and college years. He attended Williamson High School. He attended Marshall University in West Virginia then later University of Kentucky.
His careers include working as a teacher, Industrial Hygienist at OSHA, Veteran Affairs Hospital and Naval Shipyard at Long Beach, California. During his early career days, he traveled around the Pacific Ocean.
He was known as a single parent for raising three children, while being a hard-working father. He had a great personality including outgoing, friendly and great sense of humor. He enjoyed playing basketball with his friends and coworkers. After retirement, his hobbies would be days reading, woodworking, working on cars, and trips to the opera or the symphony hall.
Preceded by his parents Arminag and Mariam Messerian and sister Marian Wade and granddaughter Mariam Larinda Messerian Presbrey. He was survived by his two brothers, Lazarus and Johnny Messerian. His surviving children are Pia Jordan, Charlie Messerian, Adrianna Messerian and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 10:00 am at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street, Midvale, Utah 84047. The graveside service will follow at Sandy City Cemetery, 9000 South 700 East, Sandy, Utah 84047.
