Naudyne Swenson was reunited with her heavenly family Wednesday, March 13th, 2024.
Born and raised in Eureka, Utah to William and Hellen Laird February 1, 1923. She graduated from Tintic High School in 1941. Naudyne married her high school sweetheart Walter Swenson February 27, 1946.
She and Wally began their family in Bingham Utah. They had two daughters Lynn Ann and Celece.
Wally worked at Kennecott Copper as a mechanic, and Naudyne took charge of raising their two very active daughters. They moved from Bingham Canyon to Midvale in 1967. Over the years. Naudyne worked for LeVoys and Sandy school district. She loved her trips to Wendover with family. She also enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling.
She often out fished everybody in the group and contributed it to “talking to the fish.” As the rest of us would rebait our hooks or patiently wait for a bite you would always hear mom saying, “Here fishy fishy fishy. I have what you want. Here fishy fishy fishy.” She also enjoyed many wonderful trips as a member of the Sunburst Sam of Orem and enjoyed traveling with Walt her brother Mel, and his wife Jane and their many friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Celece Ririe; five grandchildren, Chaundra, Trishelle, Kellen, Brayland, and Breeyawn; great-grandchildren; brother Harold Laird; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Walt, daughter Lynn Ann Edmonds, brother Melvin Laird, son-in-law Larry Ririe.
We wish to thank the years of caregiving to her by Legacy House of Logan Utah, in the memory unit. They often said, “she was not just the oldest resident at 101 but she was also the sweetest.”
A memorial service will be held at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Saturday, March 23, 2024. Short viewing from 9:30-10:30 and burial at 11 am at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
