Nathan Kelly Bailey, son of Glade C. and Bonnie C. Bailey, was born on March 16, 1989, in Sandy, Utah. After a long battle with some serious health issues, Nate passed away peacefully at the Intermountain Medical Center on August 22, 2024.
Nate was blessed with three wonderful children, two sons and one daughter. Braxtyn Stanford Bailey, Dredyn Richard Bailey, and Kamdyn Kay Bailey. They were the love of his life! He referred to them as his “mini-Nates”.
Nate had a smile that could light up an entire room. He didn’t have a sister but if he could have chosen a sister it would have been his cousin, and best friend Mandie.
Nate made good friends everywhere he went, and he had many lifelong friends that will dearly miss him. He mostly spoke through music and funny GIFS.
Nate grew up in Sandy and Draper Utah and graduated from Alta High School. Growing up Nate loved Legos, he played soccer for eight years. He loved Scouting and went to many Scout Camps. He became an Eagle Scout at a very young age.
He always loved adventure. He loved anything outdoors and especially showing off his Boy Scout knowledge. He loved camping, ATV’s, giving rides in his side-by-side and riding his bullet bike. He loved sporty cars; he loved his kids first and his Cobra second. He loved animals of any kind and riding horses. He especially loved his pit bulls and his German shepherd “Knievel”. The amusement park Lagoon was one of his favorite places and he went as much as he could this past year. He thought it was so fun to scare his favorite people on the crazy rides.
Nate worked in Elko Nevada in the underground gold mines which he loved. He always wanted his mom to have that experience of going into the mines even though she was claustrophobic.
He was proud of his service in the Army Reserves. He was very patriotic and was anxious to serve his country. We are sure his Grandpa Carson, “Popper” would be very pleased that Nate followed in his footsteps working in the mines and serving in the military.
Nate is survived by his sons, Braxtyn Stanford Bailey and Dredyn Richard Bailey, his daughter Kamdyn Kay Bailey and their mother Ashlie Parker Bailey, as well as his parents Glade C. Bailey and Bonnie Carson Bailey, brothers Scott, Roger, and Alan Bailey, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins, nephews and nieces.
A very sincere thank you to his dearest of friends and family, that Nate loved so deeply, that were by his side and reached out to him continuously, as well as to the nurses and staff for their around the clock care he received at the Intermountain Health Center.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Goff Mortuary on September 6th from 6:00-8:00 pm at 8090 South State Street in Midvale, Utah.
