Nancy Ellen Woods

Nancy Woods at the age of 74 passed away on October 3, 2020 in Nephi Utah.

She was born on November 26, 1945 in Toledo Ohio to Willie and Rosebud Woods.

Survived by her children Mathew McCray, William McCray, Jacob McCray, Steve Henry Jr. McCray, and Rebekah Robertson.

Nancy Woods was the oldest of 8 children. She had a love for photography and the outdoors. As she walked, hiked and fished she saw the world through a lens. She had the ability to take award winning pictures as she showed others the beauty in the world. She was also able to publish many poems in the library of commerce. What she loved the most and was the most proud of, was raising 5 kids to adulthood on her own, and was able to have such a big role in her grandchildren's lives. She was mother, father, philosopher, healer and best friend.

She found and joined the Church of Jesus Christ while she lived in Jackson, Michigan. She had enough faith and testimony in the Lord to move her family thousands of miles to Utah in order to save her children. She came here in the dangerous winter of 1988 with nothing but 4 kids a dog and a gold fish.

She went to school during the day studying criminal justice, and worked nights to support her family. She did this in hopes of working with troubled teens.

She helped launch Youth Services International from a basement to a multi million dollar organization. She was able to work with troubled youth and even adopt 2 of her foster children.

She moved back to Toledo Ohio for 3 years but decided to move back to Utah because Utah was her home and where her heart belongs.

Memorial Services are on Friday 10-9-2020 at 3:00 pm at Anderson Funeral Home, 94 W 300 N, Nephi, UT 84648.
