Nancy Ann Greene Walker passed away October 4, 2024, peacefully in her sleep due to natural causes. She was born to Truitt Edward Greene and Bernice Ballard Greene on October 19, 1937, in the Cottonwood Maternity Hospital in Murray, Utah. She graduated from Jordan High School where she met her sweetheart Charles Ronald Walker whom she married January 19, 1956.
Nancy was a loving wife and mother. She supported Charles in his endeavors to teach first aid and CPR, certifying as an EMT herself and often accompanying him on assignments to teach CPR in high schools, churches, and civic organizations, and also in setting up mock rescue situations for training EMTs. We sometimes joked that even the dogs knew how to perform CPR at our house.
She raised five of her six children to adulthood, teaching them to be independent problem solvers. While she taught them to stand on their own two feet, Nancy was always there to assist in a crisis.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Nancy enjoyed serving in various positions such as a Primary teacher, Primary President, ward historian, dance director, and temple worker.
She loved relating her life experiences, telling her stories with an engaging narrative voice that could keep you spellbound for hours.
She was a wonderful cook and had many secret recipes that we tried to wriggle out of her. It’s hard to measure, “until it tastes right,” “until it’s the right consistency” or “until it feels right.”
Nancy also loved riding horses, going to movies, eating out, singing when she thought no one was listening (for some reason she was shy about sharing her beautiful voice), dancing, and telling stories of her adventures.
We wish her all the best as she reunites with Charles and they continue their adventures on the other side of the veil.
Nancy is survived by her children Deborah Jean Walker, John Robert & Gaile Walker, Barbara Ann & Russ Hollingshead, and David Charles & Naghieli Walker. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-six years, Charles Ronald Walker; also by her children Peggy Irene Walker, and Pamela Jane Scott. Nancy has twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and more on the way.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 12 at 11:00 am at the Lehi 18th Ward, 1364 West 1870 North, Lehi, Utah 84043. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the services. Interment will be at Sandy City Cemetery.
