Nadene Worthen

Our beloved wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, and friend, NaDene Skinner Worthen returned peacefully to her heavenly home on May 21, 2016.

Born to Gladys Irene Baldwin and Earl H. Skinner in Cedar City Utah, she spent her youth in Compton California, and Albuquerque New Mexico, where she met the love of her life, David Lee Worthen. Dad was her best friend's brother, and owned the only red convertible in town.  They enjoyed backyard cookouts and swimming at the local club.  After his service as an accomplished Air Force pilot they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on August 19, 1960.  Their lives were dedicated to their daughter Debra Ann and son David Michael.  Beyond her family she was devoted to service to children; serving for many years in the Primary in her ward.  Mom was a gifted cook and loving homemaker.  Her Christmas cookies and pecan pies were legendary.  NaDene also served others through a career as a claims adjustor at Educators Mutual Insurance, from which she retired after more than three decades.  Special memories were made during regular picnics in the park with food, friends, and family.

Late in life, David and NaDene realized the importance of their lives together, and renewed their marriage vows.  They spent wonderful time together at Marsh Lake, and enjoyed road trips across the Southwest.  She had a fascination and love for Native American art and culture.

NaDene is survived by her sweetheart David, daughter, Debra (Paul K Oldroyd), grandsons, Andrew Oldroyd, Collin Worthen, Daniel Oldroyd, Zachary Worthen, Nicholas Worthen and Samuel Patrick Oldroyd, as well as great-grandchildren, Hallie Aiden Regan and Citrine.

NaDene was preceded in death by her parents, her Stepfather, Harold E. Roesner, her sister, Marlene, and her beloved son, David.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale, Utah. Family and friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday evening, and one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Mountain View Cemetery, Beaver, Utah at 3 p.m. on the same day.
