Myda Carter

Myda Ruth Carter, 75, passed away unexpectedly June 21, 2023 in Payson, Utah. She was born in Nephi, Utah on May 31, 1948 to James Henry Carter and Georgia LaVere Parkin. She was the fifth of seven children.

Myda attended school in Nephi and graduated from Juab High School. On August 8, 1966 she married Jimmy L. Carter in Carson City, Nevada. They have been together for close to 57 years.

Myda was an extremely dedicated and hard worker, she gave everything she had in every job she held and was an incredible example. She worked at the Tiara Cafe and the El Tonya Motel. She became the manager of the Super 8 in Nephi then moved up to an area manager position, which she held for several years. Due to her knowledge of Hotel Management she was offered a position as ROM of Henderson Hospitality.Where she also took on the role of boss of the world. She loved this job, the people she worked with and worked for. It was like a second family to her.

Her biggest joy in life was her family. Myda was one of the most caring and giving people you could ever meet. She was always giving of herself, thinking of others and doing things for others. Almost never did she think of herself, she always put her family first. Whether it was cooking Thanksgiving dinner for her family and her siblings families, dancing a little jig with her sister at the family campout or hosting the biggest party ever for her grandkids, she was always there to make everyone laugh and have a good time. She truly was the life of the party.

She is survived by her husband Jim, son Bryan (Tammy) Carter of Richfield, Carla (Wes) Bills of Nephi, step-daughters Amy (Joe) Asistin, Cynthia Rapozo, Suzy (George) Kitt, her 7 grandkids, Weston, Chesha, Brittany, Talisha, Ashlee, Kesla, and Kaden, and her 6 great grandkids, Lexi, Kyson, Draxton, Drezdon, Drayven, and Henry. She is also survived by her brothers Merrill (Dody) Carter, Jerry (Myrna) Carter, sisters Myrna Ashby, Margaret Howard, sister-in-law Janet Carter, and many nieces and nephews.

Myda was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Arthur Carter, and Dave Carter, brother-in-law Kenneth Ashby and sister-in-law Marcella Carter.
