Mildred Lorraine Malmstrom was born July 25, 1929 in Murray, Utah and passed away October 5, 2017 in Midvale, Utah. She lived in Midvale until 1931 when the family moved to West Jordan. She graduated from Jordan High School and Brigham Young University. She taught school at Lafayette and Whittier Elementary in Salt Lake City for over 30 years.
She had an interest in traveling, researching, writing family history and genealogy. Her greatest pleasure was being with her extended family. She was a member of the D.U.P. until her health declined. She was honest with God and her fellow man and was generous with her means to help those in need.
She was a faithful member of the L.D.S. Church and served in many callings as well as a worker in the Jordan River Temple. She served a mission in the New England states from 1951-1952.
She was the second child of Wallace and Selma Olson Malmstrom. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-brother Robert W. Malmstrom (Marian), sisters Mary C. Lehmitz (Glen), Bertha J. Ring, Edith S. Ax (G. Allan), and brother Franklin J. Malmstrom. She is survived by her sister Florence A. Diamond (James) and brother Willard R. Malmstrom (Carol), her sisters-in-law Carol W. Malmstrom and Barbara Malmstrom and brother-in-law Charles Ring, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street, Midvale, Utah. A viewing will be held one hour prior to funeral service. Interment will be at the Midvale City Cemetery.
