Mildred Jeppson

Our beloved mother, grandma and great grandma, Mildred Brown Jeppson, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2020 after falling and breaking her hip.

Mildred was born August 28, 1934 to Merle and Ruth Brown, the fourth of four children, living in Midvale, Utah. She was a happy, obedient daughter. She excelled at school and in her senior year, received advanced training as a stenographer and worked as a paid employee each afternoon. At Jordan High School, she met Trent Jeppson whom she married April 16, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. He has been at her side 65 years. We can hardly think of one without the other. Truly, they have given us the most important thing-a good example.

Mildred's first priority was her husband, children and grandchildren. She gave extraordinary support to them all, especially the resource of time. An excellent cook, she and Dad hosted hundreds of gatherings at their table, with her doing the majority of the work. She has a soft spot for children, the elderly, and kitties. She was an excellent manager of money and kept an orderly, clean home. She managed the office of their business. She sewed and read. She loved music and sang alto in the ward choir. She was a faithful visiting teacher, temple patron and a good luck charm when shopping. How we miss her beautiful smile, intelligent mind and laugh.

Mildred actively participated and testified of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. During the 30 years she and Trent lived in Midvale, she served in teaching and executive positions in all auxiliaries. Mildred and Trent served as missionaries on Temple Square and then a full time mission to the New Jersey Morristown Mission, where she served in the office and learned how to use a computer at 60 years old.

Trent and Mildred built a new home and moved to the Sandy Granite area in 1989, where they lived thirty years. They loved this area and its people. Mildred supported Trent again as he served in a Young Single Adult Branch. They have binders of wedding invitations from their missionaries and young adults. At age 69, she was called as Relief Society president and influenced many with her personality, compassionate service and personal beliefs. She served with Trent on the activities committee and as a ward missionary.

Our Mother is the ultimate good sport. She listened to Trent's good ideas and made them her own. She made the most of every hour. We have seen her courage in the face of adversity. She sacrificed much for her family and the gospel of Jesus Christ. When Mildred and Trent enter a room, we are glad. They have light in their eyes, a sense of humor, and genuine interest. They have gone through bitter trials without becoming bitter.

She will be sorely missed.

Mildred was preceded in death by her son Kreg (Alecia Mower Jeppson Taylor), her parents and siblings Murray, Ralph and Joyce. She is survived by her husband Trent and children: Marilyn Webster (David), Brian (Brenda), Jan Phillips (Brad), and Karen Warren; (Scott) 19 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren.

Our family expresses sincere thanks to Sunrise Assisted Living in Sandy and to Inspiration Hospice for making her last eighteen months easier as she moved through the disease of Alzheimer's.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 11 at 11:00 a.m. at the Northridge Ward Chapel: 11196 South Wasatch Boulevard, Sandy, Utah 84092, with a viewing preceding from 9:30-10:30 a.m. An evening viewing Friday, January 10 will be held at the same building 6:30-8:30 p.m. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
