Mickey Sigrun Ordakowski

On July 10, 2020, Mickey Sigrun Sadowski Ordakowski, 84, passed away surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Dresden, Germany to Albert Sadowski and Erica Ella Garg Sadowski. At the age of three, she was given the nickname of Mickey as she pranced around like Mickey Mouse. When she became a citizen of the US, she made it her legal name.

On September 29, 1955, Mickey married her Brazilian sweetheart, Eloy Ordakowski (deceased). They were married for 55 years. They made their home in Sandy, Utah, and to this marriage came four children Roxane (deceased), Suzane Herget (Wayne), Michelle Vigil (Lee) and Mark Ordakowski (Coreli). Mickey has 10 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Udo Strauch of Germany, and Sigurd Sadowski of Sandy, Utah.

When Mickey was 17, she felt like she had won the lottery to leave war torn Germany and come to America. One of the first things she did was sit down to eat a quart of chocolate ice cream. Mickey loved to read, travel, go on cruises, and spend time with her family. We feel at peace knowing that she is happy and reunited with her loved ones. Mickey was a resident at Legacy House of Taylorsville when she passed. We thank them for their tender loving care.

A private graveside service will be held for Mickey at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 13, 2020 at Sandy City Cemetery.
