Michelle Oliver Pratt, “Chelle”, was born on June 25, 1969 to David Samuel Oliver and Nedra Lucille Smith. Our sweet mother, daughter, grandma, sister, and most importantly, friend, was taken far too soon on April 3, 2023.
Michelle was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, a rare form of arthritis, at the young age of 15. This began her life-long battle with many other health related issues which resulted in chronic pain and physical limitations. Michelle endured it all with fortitude and courage and she refused to allow her health problems to dictate her life. It was rare for her to acknowledge her pain, but we know it was constant in some degree. "The strongest people are not those who show strength in front of us but those who win battles we were not aware they fought.” Chelle fought many battles, some public, but most were in the privacy of her own room. She always came out of that room with a smile on her face and a renewed sense of strength.
Michelle lit up the room with her enormous personality and her beautiful smile. Everyone that knows her will remember her unique sense of humor, infectious laughter, and her generous heart. Michelle was a health care worker and a phlebotomist. Her caring, compassionate nature made her perfect for her job. She worked at Skyver Medical for many years where she made life-long friends.
Chelle loved many things: shoes, perfume, Diet Coke, animals, singing, cooking, hot baths, and peanut butter ice cream. But, what she cherished most was her family. She loved them fiercely and beamed with pride whenever she would talk about them. Her two sons, Braxton (Jenette), Stone (Gabby), and her six grandkids, Madison, Allison, Maximus, Markus, Peyson, and Carson will miss her terribly. They will cherish the time they got to learn from, and love, their beloved mom and grandma. Michelle is also survived by her mom, Nedra, siblings, Chris (Keven), Mindy (Jared), Josh (Emilee), nieces, nephews, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss her determination, kindness, and love for life.
There was a joyous reunion in heaven with Michelle, her identical twin daughters, Shadi and Courtni, her devoted dad, and many other family members and friends. Her absence was felt immediately, but we will hold tight to her sweet spirit, remarkable courage, and never-give-up attitude until we see her again.
The family would like to thank all those family members and friends who gave so generously during this difficult time. There are not words to express our depth of gratitude.
