Michelle Jean Johnson (Smith), 49, beloved, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away at her home in West Jordan, Utah from complications due to cancer. She was surrounded by her family and the ones she loved prior to passing on Friday, February 19, 2021.

She is survived by her father Richard S. Smith (Charlene) Bountiful, Utah, brother Jason Smith (Sarah), Tooele, Utah, brother Roger Smith (Emily), Taylorsville, Utah, Nathan Johnson (son), Steven Johnson (son), Allyson Johnson (daughter), Josie Johnson (daughter) Caitlyn Johnson (daughter) and Daxton Hatch (grandson), ex-husband David Leon Johnson (Sandy, Utah). She was preceded death by her mother Ellen Joyce Smith.

Michelle was born on October 3, 1971 in Murray, Utah to Richard and Joyce Smith of Midvale, Utah and moving to West Jordan when Michelle was in the sixth grade. Michelle attended West Jordan Middle School and graduated from West Jordan High. She was very active in social programs while in school, spending three years in Color Guard and being the Color Guard leaders as a Senior.

Michelle was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and lived in the West Jordan 27th ward as a child and raised all of her children in that ward. She worked out of the home to support her children. She worked for Cotiviti doing medical records. Michelle's only desire in life was to be a mother and raise her children. Her children all attended the same schools that she attended as a child, all going to West Jordan Middle and graduating from West Jordan High School, except for Nathan who graduated from River Edge High School.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 25, at 11 am at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St., Midvale, with a viewing one hour prior to the services. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.
