Michael Philip Schow, 77, passed away on March 8, 2021 at home in Sandy, Utah. He was born October 29, 1943 in Murray, Utah to Ivan Stanley and Lucille (Stoker) Schow. Mike married his sweetheart Sharon Nokes on June 26, 1967 in the Salt Lake City Temple, for time and eternity.
As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mike held many callings throughout his life. Mike served an honorable full-time mission for the Church, laboring in the Central States Mission.
Mike served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam conflict. He served 18 months active duty and an additional 54 months in the Naval Reserves before being honorably discharged in 1971. He worked for Salt Lake City for 31 years, retiring in 1999.
Mike was an outstanding father, husband, brother, uncle, teacher and friend. He was loved by all who knew him. He loved to garden, spend time with family and did thousands of hours of genealogy. He and Sharon spent several happy years teaching others to love genealogy, which he continued to work on right up to his last day.
Mike's interests and talents are too many to list, but he raised his children with the greatest love, and taught them important life skills. He adored his grandchildren, and spent as much time with them as possible.
Survived by children, Chantel Humpherys (Kenneth), Gary Schow (Elizabeth), Elle Sandridge (Aryk), Jake Schow (Linda), Diane Nichols (Christopher), Mariane Schow, and 20 grandchildren: Jessi, Amanda, Colby and Ryein Humpherys; Megan, Charlie, Ben, and Mollie Schow; Michael Sandridge (Megan), Issaac Sandridge, Hannah Mons, Jackson Mooney, Erika Sandridge, and Quinton Mons; Idony and Ainsley Schow; Rachel, William and Zachary Nichols.
Preceded in death by his wife Sharon, father and mother, Ivan and Lucille Schow, and brother, Gerald Schow.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hillcrest 4th Ward, 8735 S. Harvard Park Dr., Sandy, UT 84094, with a visitation at the church from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment, Crescent Cemetery.
