Michael Rios

It’s with sad hearts we announce the passing of Michael A Rios. Born January 26, 1963, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and passed away July 31, 2024. As some may know, he has been battling with his health for a good amount of years now, and God finally called him home to peace.

He was a father, son, grandson, uncle, grandpa, cousin, and amazing friend to anyone who he ever came across. He was the most stubborn man who always come off like he was hard but deep down was the softest teddy bear. He loved being around his family, the family parties, fishing, camping, hunting, and anything that consisted of being outside. He also loved being inside watching all his old tv shows and bumping his oldies or mexican music. He lived for his kids and grandkids and loved them dearly. 

He survived by his children and grandchildren, Charissa Rios (Marisio and Elianna), Micheal Rios, Anthony Rios (Anthony Jr, Kyson, Adalyne), Pepeen Rios, Anthony Winchell (Joshua), Aurelia Rios (Natalia and Noah), Samantha Rios, Rosemary Rios (Enzo), Rachael Rios (baby on the way). Siblings he is survived by are Carmen Cardenes, Mary Alverez, Emma Wheeler, Michelle Rios, Carmen Rios, David Rios, and Robert Garcia. 

He is preceded in death by his mother Rachel Garcia, and father Miguel Reyes Rios, as well as his brothers Manuel Rios, and Raymond Garcia and sister Rosemary Garcia. 

He always said he wanted people to celebrate his life when the time came, and it’s our job now to fulfill his wishes. We will live to carry on your name and your legacy that you left behind. Forever in our hearts, we love you.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:30 PM at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale.
