Michael Dan Memmott

Michael Dan Memmott Jr., family man, body-art connoisseur, sports coach, hunter, friend, and sit-down comic died on Thursday, February 12th, 2015.  His passing was a merciful release for him but has left an empty place for his family and loved ones.  After a courageous four-year battle with soft-tissue sarcoma, which scarcely dimmed the force of his good humor and will to enjoy life quite literally to the end, he finally conceded.  He died within a few hours of saying, "I'm tired of fighting."

'Crotchety,' 'Stubborn as hell,' 'Boisterous,' 'Funny,' and 'Generous to a fault,' are some terms easily associated with Michael, who leaves his wife, Deni and their three sons, Hunter, True, and Merrell, who will have to invent the perfect turkey mix and find a joke under the pain without his immediate assistance.

Michael was an entrepreneur.  He started and grew more than one successful business and assisted many people to improve their living situation.

He was preceded in death by his Grandmothers, Wanda Memmott & Marilyn Eatough and his Father-in-Law, Melvin J. Merrell.  Along with his wife and children, Mike is survived by his parents, eight brothers and sisters, a wealth of nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.

His good friend, Dave Hall was especially affected and wondered aloud, "Who will go to the Spanish Ward with me?"

We'll miss you Mike. We have faith that you'll be there when we wake up in the morning.

Funeral services will be held 11 am, Tuesday, Feb. 17 at the Crescent View Ward Chapel (89 East 11000 South Sandy, UT). Friends and family may visit Monday, Feb. 16 from 6-8 pm at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street.  A second viewing will be held Tuesday morning from 10-11 am at the church building.
