Michael David Drake

On March 26, 2020 the Lord called our husband, dad and grandpa home to rest. Michael David Drake passed away due to complications of Agent Orange. He was born on September 7, 1946 to Myron H. Drake and Virginia L. Brown. He married Koralynn Cook on July 21, 1966 and together they had 3 daughters. Our dad proudly served as a Sargent in the United States Marine Corp. from 1966 - 1970 and was sent to Vietnam from 1966 - 1967. It was there that he was exposed to Agent Orange which brought on his many health problems. He retired from Kennecott Copper in 2000 and went on to work at Granite School District, retiring in 2005. Our dad never got the chance to graduate from High School but went back to get his diploma in 2000 with the help of his wife and his daughter Mindy. This was one of his proudest moments.

Although he never had sons of his own, he proudly got three son-in-law's when his daughters were married. He had an undeniable love for his grandkids and you could often find him cheering them on in the stands at their sporting events when his health would allow. We all knew him as a trustworthy, hardworking man that would open his wallet at any time for his daughters and grandkids. He was an avid gun collector as well as a collector of many other things. There was always a Harley parked in his garage and a new one to purchase on the horizon (even as recent as a few days before he passed away). Our dad and mom enjoyed traveling on his Harley across the Western States and also visiting Canada and Mexico with Bruce and Kay Cook. He loved classic cars and was currently re-building his classic 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria.

Survived by his wife, Koralynn, his three daughters Mindy (Anthony), Amy (Dan), Stacey (Bret), as well as his grandchildren Travis (Hailee), Dominique, Jamisin, Casey (Daley), Lindsey, Waylon and Weston. He also leaves behind his puppy dog Gracie.

We love you dad and will miss you beyond words. You raised 3 strong daughters and we will continue to make you proud. Thank you for being the very best husband to our mom, a badass #girldad and loving grandpa to our kids. Rest easy with your brother-in-law Bruce and all your friends and family that had gone before you.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in our dad's name to the V.A. Hospital. It was there he received the very best care. SEMPER FI
