Mercedes Lynn Fulks

Mercedes, 40, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 20, 2017 at her home in Sandy, UT.

She was born on February 27, 1977 in Port Hueneme, CA to James Braaton and Sherry Friend.

Mercedes married her best friend and the love of her life, Matthew Fulks, on January 11, 2017 in Daybreak, UT.

Mercedes was a devoted mother of not only her son and stepdaughter, but to all animals that she could get her hands on. Her love for animals was inspiring and if she could, she would be that "Crazy Dog Lady" that brought home every stray dog she saw. One of her dreams was to open an animal sanctuary. She also had a passion for helping people and wanting to make them feel as if they were the only one in the room. She truly was a caring individual that would let you pour your heart out to her if you gave her the chance. Some of her favorites hobbies included: family dinner, being a social butterfly, dancing to her favorite music, and being creative with her home decor and gifting. One of her favorite affirmations that she lived by was "where there's a will, there's a way." Mercedes left a big impact on everyone she met and will be greatly missed.

Survived by her dog, Justice; son, Chaston Hill; husband, Matthew Fulks; mother, Sherry Friend; father, James Braaton (Patty); sister, Jennifer Sorensen; stepdaughter, Kadence Fulks; considered family, Bethany Dillingham.

Preceded in death by her dogs, CiCi and Beau; grandma, Gerry Grice; great uncle, Lawrence Hodge and great grandma, Maudie Hodge.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 - Ceremony at 3:00 p.m. & Visitation at 4:00 p.m. - Anderson & Goff Mortuary, 11859 South 700 East, Draper, UT 84020 - 801-996-3279.
