MELVIN DUANE PETERSON 1923-2016 Melvin Duane Peterson, 93 of Cottonwood Heights, Utah passed away in his home, October 21, 2016 �One of the Greatest Generation� WWII Veteran He was born March 1, 1923 in Monroe , Utah to Melvin E. Peterson and Irma Christian Peterson. Married Joanne Truscott Peterson 08/16/1949. Duane worked as a heavy equipment operator. Duane is survived by his wife Joanne and two sons. Gary ( Fleurette) Peterson and Randy (Lea) Peterson. One granddaughter Lindsay Peterson , two step grandsons Kevin Ford, Keith (Jeanette) Ford and 6 step great-grandchildren. Kaeden (Leana),Seamus, Padraig, Arianna, Kjirsten and Emma Ford. Four sisters, Juanita Jensen, Carol Christian, Peggy Poor and Gladys (Willy) Lundskog. Many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death are his parents, a brother, Ned and sisters Ila and Arlene All those who knew him will miss him deeply. So long Dad, Grandpa, Umpa. �til we meet again. Oct 26 6 PM to 8 PM at the Aspen Funeral Home 459 W Universal Circle (9160 S) Graveside service will be held Thursday 11 AM at the Mountain View Memorial Estates 3115 Bengal Blvd, with Military Honors provided by the United States Army.
