Melvin Arthur Mitchell, Jr. (Mitch), 84, passed away on February 2, 2015 at his home in Midvale, Utah. He was born on April 12, 1930 in Murray, Utah to Melvin Arthur and Virgie White Mitchell. Melvin married Lou Yniguez. Later divorced.
He proudly served and retired from the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War and Vietnam War. He received numerous medals and awards during his military career. Melvin worked as a postal carrier for the US Postal Service.
Survived by his children, Cathy (Dennis) Mills, Scott Mitchell, Sherry (Javier) Martinez, Pamela (Larry) Meadows, Janet Mitchell; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; ex-wife and friend, Lou Mitchell. Preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Midvale City Cemetery, 450 West 7500 South.
