Melchor Navarro

Our loving father and grandfather passed peacefully at home on Saturday, October 31st, 2020. There's nothing more he wanted than to be reunited with his wife and soul mate Laraza Navarro. (He widowed May 2020.) Our father and grandfather was born 01/06/1942 in El Dia De Los Reyes in Mexico City, MX. He went from living in San Diego to bringing his family to Midvale, Utah and settling roots here. He started working for EBR Management as a maintenance worker. He worked till he was 75 years old. He was known by the tenants and co-workers for his flirtatious charm and friendly personality. There was not a person he wouldn't put a smile on or make laugh.

Melchor was a prostate cancer survivor twice 6 years ago. He beat chemo and radiation like a champion. Two years ago he had a new battle with Lung Cancer and wasn't going to go without a fight, but unfortunately with the passing of his wife and all the years and new treatment of radiation and chemotherapy his health declined and limited his time here on earth. On his final stage we all united his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and took turns caring for him, most of all his son David Navarro (son), who took care of him on his last day and stayed by his side while he took his last breath.

Melchor is survived by his 5 children, 17 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

Our father and grandfather loved his coffee with his Coffee Mate creamer, his pan dulce, dancing to corridos, being the first one to pull a prank on his grandchildren, parties of course. Melchor moved mountains for his grandchildren.

He may not be here with us anymore but he will live in our hearts and memories forever.
